Melissa is a Solicitor in our firm and has over 16 year’s experience in business. She has recently moved from Canberra to Hervey Bay to pursue a career in Law. As a consultant to the Federal, State and Local Governments, she has had very broad experience in a number of jurisdictions with a primary focus on compliance, investigations and assurance.
With her experience as a Director and Treasurer, she is well placed to advise business owners on their compliance obligations and organisational policies. Her background in Forensic Accounting, consulting and auditing is invaluable for all clients who need legal assistance, particularly when there is a dispute involving property or damages.
Melissa has a Masters Degree in Forensic Accounting, a Degree in Business as well as a Juris Doctorate (Extended Masters Degree in Law) in conjunction with extensive experience in Business. Melissa’s background in investigations and audit gives her a unique perspective when assisting clients. She has been trained in mediation through the Conflict Resolution Centre and has completed the Australian Institute of Directors Company Directors Course. She has also undertaken a Course with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in Private Health Insurance and is a wiz in Microsoft Excel.
Melissa has four children and understands the sensitivities and complexities of Family Law matters, particularly when there are children involved.
Outside of work you will find Melissa at the gym or relaxing by the beach with her family.
Brooke has been with the firm for 4 years starting out as the Office Junior, she moved to Brisbane for a year in that time and worked for SAI Global. Brooke is passionate about Conveyancing and enjoys the challenge. Her current role at McDuff & Guilfoyle Lawyers is Melissa’s secretary and Conveyancing assistant.
Outside of work Brooke enjoys the outdoors, she loves going to the gym and spending time with her friends & family.
Coralee started working at the firm at the age of 17 as the Office Junior. After years of training, completing a Diploma in justice studies and working here she has gained knowledge in all areas of the firm ranging from Trust Accounting, Litigation, Family, Estates, Transmissions and Conveyancing.
Coralee is currently in a paralegal position after having managed all Conveyancing files previously.
She assists in all Family Law, Criminal, Litigation, Commercial and Property Law matters.
She enjoys weekends away, loves the beach and anything out doors especially when she can take her dog!
Kat is a paralegal and has been with the firm 8 years. She is Secretary to John McDuff with a focus on Estates, Family Law & Conveyancing.
Kat is a mother of 4 girls and loves to spend her spare time with family and she keeps active by going to the gym and walking at the beach.
Kat is heavily involved in fundraising for breast cancer research and raising awareness about breast cancer in young women with the So Brave Young Women’s Breast Cancer Charity.
Kira has been with the firm for 5 years but has a total of 15 years experience in the legal industry during which time Kira has gained invaluable knowledge in all areas.
Kira loves that her current position as the bookkeeper is both challenging and rewarding and has provided her with a wealth of new skills.
When Kira is not at work she is kept busy raising her 5 young children.
Sienna is an assistant to John McDuff and to the Conveyancing department. Sienna has been with the firm for 2 years originally starting out as the Office Junior . Sienna likes to go to the gym on the weekend and teach her bird to mimic sounds or songs.
Shaleah is usually the first point of contact for customers visiting our offices, she is in charge of administration and her key role is to help the office run smoothly. She is an active person and enjoys being outside hiking and adventuring.
Mandy moved to Hervey Bay 3 months ago for a life style change. She has taken up the conveyancing position within the firm. Mandy has over 30 years experience in the legal industry including conveyancing, planning and development, building and construction. Mandy has a diploma in Conveyancing Financial Services. Prior to moving to Hervey Bay, she held a Victorian conveyancing license and ran a small business from home.
When Mandy is not at work, she is fishing, camping and 4wding with her family and her dog, Chip.
